Value-Thrifty

So, I have these friends who always find the side-of-the-road steals, garage sale gems, thrift store treasures...and I was getting pretty jealous I must say. Well, it looks like hanging out with them often enough it has finally started rubbing off. Do I find those deals & steals with them? NO!  I found this great large woven basket by the side of the road with someone`s garbage...yep I`m a garbage picker now. :-) It looks great by my fireplace. I found two solid brass-looking candle sticks at Value Village for 4 dollars, a wooden handmade truck there too for 4 dollars (Carp Farmer`s Market...$40), lots of brand-new clothes for the boys, some awesome boots for my husband, dare I say more. I also discovered this great consignment store in the area called Urban Tags. I better not say more since I do not want these friends of mine to grab all the great deals before me now that they know where I shop.
I`m kidding! ;-) I do have to say I have finally turned in to a thrift store shopper. My parents have been thrift store shoppers forever(wow the stuff they have found over the years) and I never really got it since I never had the time to look at individual pieces, let alone with 4 bored boys in tow. Now with only 2 along, it`s easier. So I thank my friends for being primarily (all European at least) Dutch gals and I am glad I married a Dutchman!:-)
