Advent
If you are looking for Bible texts to read as a family this Advent season (which started on Sunday), Focus on the Family has a whole lists of texts, one for every day till Christmas. You can find them on Facebook at their Thriving Family Magazine site. We put the daily Bible texts in our new Advent calendar from Ten Thousand Villages. It's working out quite nicely. We also pick a song to sing after the readings.

I found a great blog site called "A Holy Experience" and she has made a whole devotional for the advent season ... taking you from Genesis to the manger. There is a Bible passage for each day, a meditation on it and then a "challenge" for the day. Then there are "ornaments" to cut out and hang on your Jesse Tree. I bought an indoor evergreen looking plant and that is our Jesse tree. This is the first year we are doing something like this with the kids (or at least this involved) an they are really liking it. Some of it is over their heads but that's okay too. Isn't this season on waiting great? Love it! Pam
