Swimming, swimming in the swimming pool when days are hot and days are cold...
I never realised it when I signed Jürgen up for swimming lessons when he was 4 years old that when he was 8 1/2 he'd already be wrapping up Swimmer 4. He sure reminds me of his Opa (my father). He just loves so many of the same things and has skills in similar areas that my father enjoyed growing up. Two more sessions and if he completes Swimmer 6 he'll be heading on to the Rookie level and work his way to lifeguard which he couldn't do till he was 16. So maybe 8 years from now my oldest son might find himself working at the same pool where he first learned to swim. Mathias was the boy who refused to go anywhere near the pool's edge if he didn't 'click' with the teacher. He had one session where he spent all 8 weeks sitting besideme by the pool's edge and never went in. He had a teacher that was all business which scared him since he was taking lessons to have fun first and then learn all his required passing requirements. :-) He has now moved far beyond that to simply blow us away by completing Swimmer 2 and getting ready to start Swimmer 3 and he won't even be 7 until the end of April. It is hard to watch him work through relationships and learn to trust people or be comfortable with different people. It is exciting to watch him work hard, have fun and be thrilled when he completed his level today. He even jokes now about the time he wouldn't even go in the water and now he loves swimming in the deep end. Thomas and Johan are working through Preschool B and are loving it. By the time they are 6-7 years old I'll have 4 dolphins I'm sure. It is so neat to watch them enjoy it so much.
