Our weekend...

The boys had a wonderful time at the hockey game on Friday evening! On Saturday we had a great day with my sister and brother-in-law (the one that got married this past October). J. opened his presents. One of them was his very own Bible (the NIV Adventure Bible). He was very excited. He also got some great books and a King Arthur LEGO vessel. The boys tried out their new skates with their father and their uncle. It wasn't too cold!☺ On Sunday morning my sister and her husband had planned to head to Montreal to see my parents and siblings. We weren't going to join them but changed our minds early Sunday morning and we all headed to my parents church for their 10:30 a.m. service. My parents didn't know we were coming so it was a nice surprise to have the family together. My parents were supposed to come to our house for the Saturday but had to rush my youngest sister to the emergency so they had to cancel their travel plans. She ended up having to have her appendix removed. Unfortunately she wasn't able to come home as early as hoped so we didn't get to see her. :-(
J. got a few more gifts and after a nice meal lovingly prepared by my sister and her husband most of us had to start heading home. We travelled for 30 minutes and then we realized that we had no heat and that the temperature gage was rising...the vehicule was on it's way to overheating and the van was freezing cold. With crying children, we headed to the closest exit where after buying some anit-freeze, speaking to a tow truck driver we decided to try to make it home and not get to cold, stopping every 50kms to refill on anti-freeze which we quickly figured out was leaking out somehow. We made the 2hr trip in 4.5 hrs. The van is headed to the garage this week and we may have repairs in the couple of thousands...Sigh...
We did have a wonderful time with family and J. had a great birthday! Here are a couple of photos, including the shark birthday cake!
