A Fondness for Fridays

I think I have a fondness for Fridays.  Friday is the day to look back on my week and see what we have done, learned.  What challenged us, who was challenged or who did we challenge always comes to mind. What surprised us, made us feel happy or sad? Friday is the morning after an evening of Bible study and time with friends and brothers & sisters in Christ. Friday is the day before my husband is home for 2 days and we can drop our business and schedules and take up others things left unfinished from the previous weekend. Friday this week was the perfect time to get sick.  Friday afternoon I started having a sore stomach, chills, achy joints after the fun morning of making cards, picking out (with the boys) a birthday gift and balloon for a 1 year old girl.  We dropped off the gifts and then came home for lunch.  After lunch we had plans to head to the library to return our 4 bags of books.  What a struggle when all I wanted to do was run outside, get some fresh air or find a place to lay down and rest.  We made it home and after setting up a movie, I curled up with a blanket and slept knowing that my husband would be home in 3 hours.  I was hopeful that the fellows down the street would kindly make dinner for my guys (for a fee).  Friday is really the last day of the week for us with Saturday the transition day, Sunday the day spent with friends & family totally focused on the Lord and serving others (that should be every day but we get an extra special day where that is 'all' we 'need' to do and it's okay). It was on a Friday morning years ago when I got to hold my first-born son for the first time.
Friday is such a blessed day leading up to Easter Sunday.  Friday is probably the least 'stress-filled" day of the week for our family.  Fridays

  1. Thank you very much for the birthday gifts for Addie! She loved the cards and balloon, almost as much as the toy itself! We have a few leftover cupcakes if you want to try to come party again! :)
