Fall Annual Costume Day!

Even when I was little watching "Mr Dress up" my favourite part was when he opened the Tickle Trunk and dressed up. I just love dressing up and always did when we had special days when I was teaching high school too! The boys love it and my husband loves all the free chocolate and a chance to chat with our neighbours. (Mathias is dressed as a pirate. Jürgen is dressed as a Greek god, Thomas is our chef and Johan insisted on being a hockey player.) Update: These photos were taken before heading out for the evening. While we were out Thomas was the star and loved chatting with all the neighbours who loved his chef costume. He even met a gentleman who was also dressed as a chef. They had a great time! The boys ended up with a pillow case full of bags of chips and a pillow case 3/4 full of candy. Thankfully after 1hr of walking the neighbourhood they were tired and ready to go home way before we were ready. We are thinking as they get older to skip the whole trick or treating and spend the evening out for dinner as a special outing and try to focus more on Reformation Day and less on Halloween. We'll wait till our youngest is 5. So 2 more years of figuring out costumes for all of October!

  1. Sara--
I love your costume! Very fetching. Aidan and I are enjoying the free snacks a little too much, though...

  2. Same here Jo! We had to buy our own box of chocolate so we wouldn't "steal" from the boys. Mind you I did dress up and walk too! My husband prefers to be just the Dad since some of his colleagues live in the neighbourhood and I don't really know the neighbours on the other streets and I LOVE to dress up. I also picked up a costume of Athena the Greek Goddess to wear next year! So much fun!
