Today in our Story of the World Vol 2 book we studied a chapter on how the Chinese gave to the Koreans who then passed on things (culture, language, religion) to the Japanese. Well, that's the short simplified explanation for the purpose of the blog. We did some map work, Jürgen & I tried to each write a haiku, we made kimonos and ate our lunch with chopsticks. The boys are very fond of sushi (that doesn't just mean raw fish) which I love to make when I have 2-3 hours to spare so we usually just buy it pre-made. Thankfully we had a leftover noodle soup which worked with chopticks and since the boys have been using them for years it was just fun and not too tricky or frustrating. We actually all have new pairs since Edward received some as a gift from a colleague. I wanted to make a carp kite too but didn't have a chance to buy the fabric nor a place to put it once we'd made it. Maybe in a few years if we live in a different house, the boys are a bit older and can help with making one.☺ The oldest boys are serious in the photos because they were weathly noble Japanese men and wanted to look important! ☺
Nice job boys!!!
