Too much unhealthy exercise??
I love to workout and get exercise and keep my body healthy by making healthy food choices.
In the last week, I have been thinking a lot about a body part that gets so much exercise you'd think it would be so small that it would no longer even function but no, it's always in great shape physically and is a power house. When I was growing up and my siblings & I were not kind & loving to each other with our words, my father would read to us from the book of James, especially chapter 3. As parents now, my husband and I have the responsibility and privilege to read to our children as well. My husband does read from James chapter 3 but the other day he read from Ephesians 4 verses 29-5 to the end of verse 4. The boys spent the next few days reminding each other of how to speak to each other and to others and they commented on how they have been spoken to, especially by adults or how they hear adults speak to each other. Our family is always trying to be mindful of these verses and trying hard in our imperfect way to apply them in our lives. We need to prayerfully work hard so that our tongue gets a lot of exercise but at the end of the day isn't even tired from all the loving, kind, compassionate, praiseworthy and uplifting words that came out during our workout.☺
Like my blog title...Every minute counts and our words are & will be remembered (which can be a scary thought)!
Ephesians 4 verses 29-5 verse 4:
"Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouth, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage & anger, brawling or slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or greed, because these are improper for God' holy people.
Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place but rather thanksgiving."
