Planet Earth

For those interested, here's my and my husband's review of the Planet Earth series. We were quite excited when we purchased the collection for our son for Christmas. We already own the Blue Planet series and had been pretty happy with it. First of all, the narrator's voice and choice of words gets to us after a while. The use of the word "bizarre"...when something could not be explained by Science minus God...instead of being referred to as awesome, incredible...it was referred to as "bizarre". Bizarre is not awesome! He was also overly dramatic but still not giving praise to God which make the videos seem "empty", "missing something". Of course the reference to the biggest, largest, most, 65 millions years ago...gets to anyone who believes God is in control and created the world. Of course we knew the producers perspective before purchasing the series. Unfortunately quite a bit of the footage was repeated in the different videos. Several scenes were repeated but with a different narration attached. (?) The graphic "speeding up" took away the natural progression of things and made them malleable and changed just by the touch of a few computer keys. Sure flowers grow slowly but they are not more beautiful if you can very rapidly show how they change or make animals run at tremendous speeds, etc...Also our children had a very hard time with instead of seeing beautiful animal footage and amazed by the beauty of God's creation, they were too often shown the result of sin...wolves devouring baby animals, a fox stealing a live baby goose and then feeding it to its young, a pride of lions eating an elephant, etc...They were left confused and upset. They wanted to watch the videos to see the animals grazing, playing with each other, not the "ugly" side of the world. If we had known, we would have purchased some videos from a Christian organization that brings glory to God, the creator of this universe and does not treat the result of sin as "natural". Anyone else have some thoughts?
