Sprouts Camp 2008

In early July, my 6 year old went to camp for the first time! The camp was 8 hours away and his father and brother drove him there and then stayed with relatives for a few days. Here are some photos of him with the other boys. In one of them I believe they were singing " I may never march in the infantry.... but I'm in the Lord's army, yes Sir! " In the first photo he is with his "pack"- The Heavy Metal Blue Tigers and they were building a fort (he is the boy to the right with a white shirt, back to the camera), in the next photo again with his pack, his smiling face is popping out from behind the boy with the mohawk. The third photo he is the one wearing the orange T-Shirt, blue swim trunks and a bandana. In the last photo, he is to the left upper corner wearing an orange T-shirt and a bandana. Here is also a link to all the photos from Sprouts Camp 2008. http://www.campfirebiblecamp.myphotoalbum.com/view_album.php?set_albumName=album19&page=1

J. came home with so many stories to tell, songs to share and anecdotes about a few learning moments with a couple of the boys in his pack that weren't always kind or friendly.

He was already asking if he could go next year!

  1. Yes! It was started about 10 years ago by some friends of ours, one of them is now a minister in our denomination. All the money to build the camp came from various churches and donations by our many church members. Your boys would love it! Parents can even volunteer to help during their children's week there.
