Stephen

Every morning the first thing we do after breakfast is to start our school day with a Bible story reading followed by some singing together. This morning we were reading about Stephen. When we had finished reading, my oldest son was visibly affected by what happened to Stephen and why he was treated so terribly. He turned to me and said- Mama, I will do that too! What will you do?, I asked him. If I have to some day, I will die like Stephen did because I believe in God. I told him that was a wonderful thing to say and to remember that we all die when God decides that He is calling us to come home to Heaven, no matter how we die. Another (somewhat mature for a six year old) thing he said this morning was that when he grows up he would like to be a Marine Biologist, who also takes photos of animals and an artist who creates clothing with animal drawings on them. His love and fascination for mainly ocean animals (especially sharks, whales, cephalopods and echinoderms...) is still there and growing!
