Science & a bed

Well, one thing I've really discovered with homeschooling is that we don't have to worry about snow days or sick days! Today J. wasn't feeling well and had a fever. He was still interested in reading some books so we took out a Magic School Bus Science book on Rainbows and one on Hurricanes and while his youngest brothers were napping and his younger brother was watching a movie, we lay on the bed and read the books together! He actually still got some schooling in. He could have a face cloth on his forehead, have a sip of water and learn new things while he was resting. He didn't even have to miss a day of school! We are actually planning to school through the summer since there is so much to learn about gardening, weather, new vocabulary/ spelling, math, out on hikes and checking out plants, etc. When it is too hot to really be outside we can still do some French and English exercises! We are taking a few days here and there but with the school of life, one never really takes a break! This is so much fun!
